No. World War II began on 3 September 1939. On 1 September 1939 Germany attacked Poland. UK and France declared war on Germany on 3 September 1939. That was the beginning of World War II.
World war 2 started 1 september 1939, because the attack on Polen was the Main reason France and britain declared war
They did declare war on September 3, 1939 but the war was considered to be started on September 1, 1939.

3 September 1939 is the correct date of beginning of World War II. On that day UK and France declared war on Germany.
