Narayan Dutt Tiwari (N. D. Tiwari) was Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh three times during the 1970s and 1980s and was Chief Minister of Uttarkhand from 2002 to 2007. He was Governor of Andhra Pradesh from 2007 to 2009.

Chandigarh was capital of Punjab. When Haryana was separated from Punjab it was made capital of Punjab and Haryana and union territory.
Chandigarh has one building in which two Vidhan Sabhas meet in separate sections. There are two residences for governors. Governor of Punjab is administrator of Chandigarh.
